My illustrious wife, the infamous Baobei Funky Feng, and I were lucky enough to be able to visit some friends in Sweden recently! Sweden is a really wonderful place to visit-- the people are very nice, the natural scenery is unbeatable, the food is surprisingly delicious and bold-- especially considering the rest of Northern Europe's bland reputation. So what can you see in good old Sverige? (say it like Svaria, the g is silent!)
We flew into Stockholm, so for your first day there, I really recommend taking a nice boat ride through the Stockholm Archipelago. The beautiful Swedish scenery is one the major draws to this amazing place, and you can see quaint Swedish cabins nestled amidst forested islands (Online now!).
Then a big draw is to Old Stockholm, the Gamla Stan, where you can walk around, seeing the small Swedish streets, visit the old Cathedral, and have a Swedish coffee break, the Fika, Live now!
You can take a day trip to Gamla Uppsala, where the old holy Scandinavian temple sat in the days before Christians ruined the country and death metal was invented (Online now!).
Take a walk through Stockholm's large Ostermalm park, the Ladugårdsgärdet, and have some supper on top of the TV with views throughout all of Stockholm! Online 26th of Nov. 2014.
If you're looking for an educational experience, a trip to the Historiska Museet, or the Swedish History Museum, is a great day! (Online Dec. 3rd 2014).
Try tasty Swedish food, learn about the Swedish state-owned liquor stores, the Systembolaget, and have a night out in the quirky and fashionable Sondermalm, stopping at a club on the roof of a building with panoramic views of Stockholm! (Online Dec. 10th, 2014).
Skol! I will update this page as I add more entries! Thanks for visiting! If you would like to hear about these posts once they're up, follow me on Facebook.
